Obituary

Terry Lee Glasgow, age 79, of Madison, Indiana, and the son of the late Gene Edward and Edna Myrtle (Elliott) Glasgow, was born on March 27, 1947, in Bethel, Ohio. On September 30, 1964, he enlisted in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and faithfully served his country until he was honorably discharged on February 28, 1968. Terry was united in marriage to Sue Ella Anderson on February 20, 1970, and they were blessed with four children: Heather, Abigail, Jared, and Melissa.

For 42 years, he devoted his life to serving the Lord in Christian ministry and preaching God's Word. Throughout the years, Terry served as the Pastor of Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter Christian Fellowship, and then The Good Samaritan Church in downtown Madison for 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed relaxing on the porch while birdwatching and working in the yard. He was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts. In more recent years, he attended Calvary Chapel of Madison, and spent a lot of his time in prayer, lifting up the burdens and needs of others. More than anything, Terry treasured every moment he spent with his family. Mr. Glasgow entered his eternal home with Jesus on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

Terry's life will be cherished by his wife of 56 years, Sue of Madison; his children: Abigail Geerts and her husband, Drew of Hanover, Indiana, Jared “J.T.” Glasgow and his wife, Suzie of Madison, and Melissa McDowell and her husband, Bryan of Noblesville, Indiana; his brother: Gary Glasgow of Blue Ridge, Georgia; and his grandchildren: Gabriel, Ezra, Coen, Ian, Isabella (Gage), Sophia, Olivia, Ruthie, Rosalie, Jude, and Ella. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Heather A. Glasgow; and his sister: Polly Glasgow.

Friends and family may gather from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, November 6, 2026 at the Welty Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Lytle Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison. A Celebration of Terry’s life and faith will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 7, 2026 at the Calvary Chapel of Madison, 742A Jefferson Court, Madison, Indiana, with interment to follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison.
