Obituary

Melissa Jane “Missie” (Yeager) Miller, age 62, of Madison, Indiana, and the daughter of Marion Yeager and Glenda (Poynter) and Jim Green, was born on June 28, 1964, in Seymour, Indiana. On March 18, 1994, Missie was united in marriage to David Eugene Miller in Milton, Kentucky. Missie was a devoted homemaker who was always busy caring for others and tending to the many things she loved. She spent time working alongside multiple Amish holistic healers, learning from them and eventually putting that knowledge into practice. She also assisted members of the Amish community as a driver, always willing to lend a helping hand.

Missie was never one to sit idle. She enjoyed working on the farm, tending her gardens, and preserving the harvest through canning. She had a natural gift for caring for others and was always there for anyone in need. Her strong spiritual beliefs were an important part of her life and guided the way she lived and cared for those around her. She had a deep love for animals, especially her dogs, and cherished all of the animals that were part of her life throughout the years. Missie will be remembered for her hardworking spirit, caring heart, strong faith, and the countless ways she quietly helped those around her. Mrs. Miller passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at her residence in Madison.

Her life will be cherished by her husband of 32 years, Dave Miller of Madison; her children: Tia (Dane) Kirchner of North Vernon, Tosha (Travis) Mott of Norton, Massachusetts and Chris (Stephanie) Mullins of Kansas City, Missouri; her step-children, Amy Jo Miller and Jared Potter both of Madison; her mother, Glenda Green of Madison; her brother-in-law, Harold Hartwell of North Vernon; her siblings: Cindy (Al) Reynolds of Madison; Kim (Ray) Duesler of Bedford, Indiana, Ernie (Pat) Yeager of Mooresville, Indiana, Machel (Wes) Hines of Scipio; her grandchildren: Devin, Jaylan, Aiden, Danity, Alivia, Jasmine, Colton, Carter, Emma and Presley; her step-grandchildren, Logan and Lindsey; her great grandchildren, Liam, Kinzleigh, Jordan, Paisley and Luke; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Missie was preceded in death by her father, Marion Yeager; step-father, Jim Green; her sister: Vicki Hartwell; her niece, Erin Estes; and her nephew, J.D. Spicer.

A Memorial for Missie will be held Saturday, November 14, 2026, at Brushy Fork Baptist Church, 12840 E. Brushy Fork Road, Canaan, Indiana, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
