Obituary

Judith Ellen "Judy" (Allard) Harrison, age 79, of Madison, Indiana, and the daughter of the late Waldo Earl and Katherine Ellen (McDonald) Allard, was born on February 27, 1947, in Toledo, Ohio. She devoted much of her life to caring for her home and family as a homemaker, while also sharing her remarkable talents as a seamstress at a local shop in downtown Madison. Judy found great joy in crocheting, knitting, quilting, beadwork, and sewing. She lovingly made clothing for herself and her children, and handcrafted beautiful jewelry, even creating many of the beads herself. She took tremendous pride in her work as a seamstress, believing every stitch should be just right, and her attention to detail was evident in everything she created.

Judy was a woman of deep faith who occasionally shared God's Word by delivering sermons at her church. She enjoyed dressing up and looking her best, spending evenings line dancing, and playing countless hands of euchre with friends at the senior citizen center in North Vernon, Indiana. She also loved cooking big meals for her family and decorating her home for the holidays. Known for her generous and selfless heart, Judy was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was a wonderful, loving mother who adored her family and treasured spending time with her grandchildren. Judy passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at the Norton Clark Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana, with her loving family by her side.

Her life will be cherished by her sons: Jason Heron, of Madison, and Kurt Heron and his wife, Denyse of Madison; her step-son: Andy Harrison and his wife, Kim Anderson; her step-daughter: Missy Gish and her husband, Mark of Madison; her grandchildren: Keely Lange (Dan), Zackary Gish, Sammie Gish, Jacob Hall (Brooklyn), Jordan Kinsler, and Paige Kinsler (Jeremy); her great grandchildren: Lanah, Roy, Cooper and Declan; her sisters: Sue Poole (Jim) and Linda Mccullim (Larry); her brothers: Earl Allard (Sandy) and David Dawson (Connie); her sister-in-law: Sandy Allard; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Nora and Kathy; and her brother: Dick Allard.

A memorial gathering will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Saturday, July 11, 2026 at the Welty Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Lytle Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison. Family and friends will be invited to share memories of Judy at 1:00 PM to conclude the gathering.
