Obituary

Brenda Carolyn Rowlett, age 79, of Milton, Kentucky, and daughter of the late Cleston and Bernice "Bonnie" (Purvis) Rowlett, was born on August 28, 1946, in Bedford, Kentucky. Throughout her life, she had a genuine love for God, her family, and the people around her. In her younger years, Brenda attended Poplar Ridge Baptist Church and she always enjoyed praying together as a family. She also participated in the Special Olympics, where her determination earned her three medals.

For a short time, Brenda worked at a box factory in Lexington, Kentucky. She loved camping, fishing, horseback riding, picnics with her family, singing, dancing, and going on boat rides. She could often be found listening to her favorite music on her handheld radio or watching her beloved television shows, I Love Lucy and Wheel of Fortune. She was known for her youthful spirit, loving heart, and truthful nature, and she had a remarkable ability to love everyone she met. Miss Rowlett passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at her residence in Milton, with her loving family by her side.

Brenda's life will be cherished by her brother: Norbert "Danny" Rowlett and his wife, Sheryl of Cairo, Georgia; her sister and devoted caregiver: Dianna McQueary and her husband, William "Bill" of Milton; her nieces and nephews: Lori Lynn Taylor and her husband, David of Canaan, Indiana, Lana "Canday" Adams and her companion, Jerry Janes of Milton, Linda Hall and her husband, Duane of Madison, Danielle Rowlett of Milton, and David A. Rowlett and his wife, Britney of Cairo, Georgia; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleston and Bonnie Rowlett; her sister: LaDonna Rowlett; and one great nephew: Tazman Adams.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Welty Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Lytle Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison with interment to follow in Bedford I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Bedford, Kentucky. Friends and family may visit at the Welty Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Lytle Chapel from 12:00 PM until the time of the service on Saturday.
