Obituary

Arlie LeeRoy Colvin, age 69, of Madison, Indiana, and the son of the late Arlie and Ruby Lynn (Glocin) Colvin, was born on March 31, 1957, in Chillicothe, Ohio. He owned and operated his own construction business for many years before later working as a truck driver for Summit Trucking until his retirement. He was united in marriage to the former Ruby L. Neukirchner, and together they were blessed with two sons, Arlie and Joshua. Of all the roles he held throughout his life, none brought him greater joy than being a father. His sons were the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Whether enjoying meals together, relaxing at home, or proudly accompanying his son on fire department runs, he treasured simply being with his family. His unwavering love, encouragement, and devotion made him the kind of father every child hopes to have. In his spare time, Arlie enjoyed watching science fiction and horror movies. Over the years, he attended Point of Grace Family Praise Fellowship in Madison. Mr. Colvin passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026 at his residence in Madison with his loving son by his side.

His life will be cherished by his son, Paramedic Arlie Colvin II of Madison and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby L. Colvin who passed away on January 26, 2024; his son, Joshua Leeland Colvin who passed away on October 26, 2021; his sister: Dora Glocin; and his brother: Joseph "Joe" Colvin.

Honoring Arlie's wishes, no formal services will be held. Private interment will take place in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Madison.

Welty Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Lytle Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison is in charge of arrangements.
